Restoring Pasture at Serendipity Sanctuary

At Serendipity Sanctuary, the health and nutrition of our animals is always our top priority. Recently, we undertook necessary treatment to remove invasive weeds from our pasture, which caused much of the grass to be lost. With limited time and funds, we were only able to reseed the front half of the pasture, and it still needs fertilized in the spring.

The back half of the pasture has not yet been addressed, but we plan to begin seeding in early spring and fertilize both the front and back later in the fall, as funds allow. To give the new grass the best chance to establish, we also invested in additional fencing to keep animals off the newly seeded areas.

In the meantime, our animals continue to rely on supplemental hay, including at least two 800 lb round bales each week — a necessary but significant ongoing expense.

Your support helps cover these essential pasture restoration and feeding costs, keeping our animals safe, well-fed, and comfortable while their pasture recovers. Every donation goes directly to care for the animals at Serendipity Sanctuary.
